Kodi Sawin is actively involved in all aspects of water communications and marketing, including utility-side issues, private property rights, and groundwater policy (i.e., GMA and groundwater districts). She served as the Director of Communications for WaterTexas for over four years. At WaterTexas, she managed feasibility studies for utilities, including the IH35 Corridor Study and the SWR Magnetotelluric Survey in coordination with Schlumberger Water Services, among others. In addition, she managed communications and outreach with landowners and groundwater districts around Texas. Kodi formed the Sawin Group in 2007. A partial list of her water clients includes the City of Austin, THF Land, Great Basin Water, Chisholm Trail Special Utility District and Blue Water Systems.
Kodi’s past professional experience includes managing and founding private start-up companies as well as campaign media strategy for both corporate and political clients. Prior to her time in start-ups, Kodi designed and managed strategy for corporate public affairs campaigns, as well as political and issue campaigns. She oversaw survey research, focus groups, message development, and media production used in various forms of media, government relations, and public outreach.
